Hot Spring
Talaroo Hot Springs
Gulf Savannah Way, Mount Surprise, Queensland 4871
Aboriginal-owned geothermal hot springs in the Gulf Savannah region. Naturally heated mineral water flows into a series of pools.
Know before you go
The springs themselves can only be seen on a guided tour with an Ewamian guide, from a purpose-built boardwalk — the site is protected and there is no wandering off on your own. You do not bathe in the springs: the water surfaces at up to 68°C and is channelled off and cooled to about 36–39°C for the communal bathing pool, which is included in the Hot Springs Discovery Tour. Private soaking pools are booked separately in 40-minute sessions.
