Sundown National Park

A rugged wilderness of sharp ridges and steep-sided gorges straddling the Queensland-New South Wales border southwest of Stanthorpe, at the far edge of the Granite Belt. The Severn River runs through the park, past formations including Red Rock Gorge and Blue Gorge, and four-wheel-drive vehicles are required for access. About 250 kilometres southwest of Brisbane via Stanthorpe and 70 kilometres northwest of Tenterfield, it is one of southern Queensland's more remote parks, with bush camping available and campfires permitted under conditions.
