Know before you go. At 1,500m on the edge of the Great Escarpment this is high, cold country and the weather can be extreme and turn without warning — come prepared for it even on a fine morning, and expect cloud to close the view in. The lookout track itself is sealed and takes about 20 minutes. On a clear day you can see 70km out to the Pacific. The park may close in poor weather or on high fire danger days.
