Know before you go. The lookout is an easy 5-minute walk. The 697-step descent to the canyon floor is very steep and requires good fitness for the return climb. Safety barriers protect the cliff edge at the lookout.
A dramatic lookout perched on the rim of a 275-metre deep gorge in northern Tasmania offering vertigo-inducing views straight down to the Leven River far below. The forested slopes of the canyon walls create layers of green stretching to the horizon. A staircase of 697 steps descends to the canyon floor for those wanting a closer look at the ancient forest below. The lookout itself is easily accessible from the car park making it suitable for all visitors.
