The walk to the rooftop of Australia follows a well-maintained metal mesh path across alpine herbfields and snow gum woodlands from Charlotte Pass to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. At 2228 metres the views from the top stretch across the entire Main Range and beyond. In summer the alpine wildflowers create a carpet of colour unique to this environment. Winter transforms the landscape into a snow-covered wonderland accessible only on skis or snowshoes.
