Waterfall
Jim Jim Falls
Jim Jim Falls Carpark, Jim Jim Road, Kakadu National Park
One of the Northern Territorys most dramatic waterfalls, Jim Jim Falls drops 200 metres from the Arnhem Land escarpment into a deep plunge pool surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs. The remote location and seasonal access make reaching the falls a true outback adventure, with a rocky scramble over boulders to reach the base.
Know before you go
Closed. The whole Jim Jim and Twin Falls area, Jim Jim Falls included, is closed for all of 2026 and no reopening date has been announced. Check the Kakadu access report before planning anything here. When open, access is 4WD only on a seasonal road, and reaching the plunge pool means a 900m scramble over boulders.
