Lookout
Hutt Lagoon
Port Gregory Road, Port Gregory, Port Gregory WA
A salt lake beside the fishing village of Port Gregory on the Coral Coast, coloured by Dunaliella salina, a carotenoid-producing microalga that turns the water anywhere from bubblegum pink to lilac depending on season, cloud cover and time of day. George Grey Drive runs along the seaward edge and a lookout with parking sits off Port Gregory Road; the crusted shoreline can be walked in sturdy shoes, and scenic flights circle overhead. Geraldton is about an hour's drive south, Kalbarri 45 minutes north.
Know before you go
