Hobart Zoo and Aquarium

A family wildlife park near Richmond in the Coal River valley, about half an hour north of Hobart, pairing close-up animal encounters with Tasmania's largest aquarium. Alongside native and exotic animals and a purpose-built cotton-top tamarin exhibit, there are heated indoor spaces, several shaded outdoor playgrounds, a cafe and a gift shop, making it an all-weather day out. The aquarium showcases local marine and freshwater ecosystems. Open seven days, closed only on Christmas Day.
