Wellington Falls

The largest of the waterfalls on kunanyi / Mount Wellington, a drop of around fifty metres over a sheer dolerite face into a gorge. Reaching it is a Grade 4 walk of about twelve kilometres return from The Springs, the back half a rock-hop across the scree of the Potato Fields, past the usually-dry Disappearing Tarn, with the key junction unsigned. A signposted platform looks across the falls. For experienced, well-prepared walkers.
