Cotter Bend Pool

A popular swimming spot on the Cotter River in the ACT, surrounded by eucalypt forest. Easily accessible and perfect for families on warm days.

Check the ACT water quality report before you swim and look for signage when you arrive — the Murrumbidgee, Cotter and Paddys rivers have been closed for bacteria or blue-green algae in every recent recreation season, and closures can appear at short notice. The bend itself is where Paddys River meets the Cotter, with a wide pool, a sandy beach, shaded grass, free electric barbecues and toilets.
