Namadgi National Park

The ACT''s largest nature reserve protecting alpine meadows, old-growth forest, and Aboriginal rock art. Quiet trails close to Canberra.

The Namadgi Visitor Centre opens 9am to 4pm on weekdays and 9am to 4.30pm on weekends and public holidays, and takes card only — no cash. Campground bookings go through the centre on 02 6237 5307. Access roads here close for maintenance for weeks at a time and campgrounds close for upgrades, so check the Parks ACT alerts before you drive out. Snow falls on the higher walking tracks in winter.
