One of the tallest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere at over 300 metres, with views down the Tasman Peninsula and across to Cape Hauy.
Know before you go
This is not a roadside lookout. Cape Pillar is reached either on the booked Three Capes Track — a 46km, four-day walk starting with a boat from Port Arthur, with numbers capped at around 48 starters a day — or independently on the old Cape Pillar track from Fortescue Bay, a 29km two to three day return trip camping at Fortescue Bay and Bare Knoll. Either way you need to be self-sufficient, and the clifftops here are high, exposed and unfenced.
