Wreck Beach Walk

Great Ocean Road · VIC

A dramatic coastal walk descending wooden steps to a wild beach strewn with the anchor and remnants of historic shipwrecks along the Great Ocean Road. The 300-step descent reveals towering cliffs and rock stacks carved by centuries of Southern Ocean waves. At low tide you can explore rock pools teeming with marine life. The Shipwreck Coast earned its name from the many vessels lost to these treacherous waters.

Know before you go

Over 300 steps each way. Only visit at low tide for beach access. Rogue waves are a serious risk so never turn your back on the ocean. The climb back up is strenuous.
