Wineglass Bay Lookout

Freycinet, TAS

One of the most photographed views in Tasmania looking down over the perfect curve of Wineglass Bay from the saddle between Mt Amos and Mt Mayson in Freycinet National Park. The white sand beach and turquoise water create a striking contrast against the pink granite peaks. The climb to the lookout is steep but well-maintained with stone steps. Those with more energy can continue down to the beach adding another hour each way.

Know before you go

The climb to the lookout takes about 45 minutes with many steps. It can be very busy in summer so start early. A parks pass is required. Continue to the beach if you have time.
