A 26km coastal walk through Royal National Park between Bundeena and Otford, typically tackled over two days. Sandstone escarpments, heath country, hidden beaches at Marley, Wattamolla, Garie, Burning Palms, North Era. Past Eagle Rock and Curracurrang Falls, the heritage shacks at Era and Burning Palms, the Palm Jungle. No drinking water along the route. Whale watching from May to October. North Era is the only legal overnight camp. Trains from Sydney serve both ends — Otford and Cronulla for the Bundeena ferry.

Know before you go

The full track runs 26km one way between Bundeena and Otford and is usually walked over two days; it needs a moderate level of fitness. You can split it — 17km Bundeena to Garie Beach, or 10km Garie Beach to Otford in about three hours. There is no drinking water along the way, so carry all of it. Overnight stays are only allowed at North Era with a booking made in advance. A vehicle entry fee applies to Royal National Park, payable at the entry stations, pay machines or through the Park'nPay app.
