A short walk from the car park leads to the famous Balconies rock formation jutting out over the Victoria Valley in the Grampians. The wind-sculpted sandstone creates a jaw-like overhang that is one of the most photographed natural landmarks in Victoria. Views stretch endlessly across the valley to the Serra and Mt William ranges. Sunset is the magic hour when the rock glows orange against a darkening sky.
Know before you go
Stay behind barriers at the Balconies as the cliff edge is dangerous. Very popular at sunset so arrive early. Bring a torch for the walk back after dark.
