Purnululu National Park

Home to the Bungle Bungle Range, striped beehive-shaped sandstone towers that are one of Australia''s most striking natural landmarks.

The park is only open in the dry, roughly April to November, and the road closes outside that window; check before travelling in the shoulder months. The Spring Creek Track in from the highway is 53km of unsealed, corrugated road with hills and numerous creek crossings — allow 1.5 to 3 hours each way, and high-clearance 4WD only. Single-axle caravans and campers are permitted; conventional caravans are not. The visitor centre runs April to October.
