At 842 metres, the summit anchors the northern end of Walter Burley Griffin's land axis: the sightline runs south-south-west over the Australian War Memorial, down Anzac Parade, across Lake Burley Griffin and up to Parliament House on Capital Hill — the one place Griffin's 1912 geometry reads whole. The platform was renamed the Marion Mahony Griffin View in 2013, after the architect who drew this prospect for the Griffins' winning competition entry. Reach it by road, bike, or on foot from behind the War Memorial.
