Know before you go
Buy an Uunguu Visitor Pass online before you leave — this is Wunambal Gaambera country and there is no phone or internet reception once you are on it. Getting here needs a fully equipped 4WD and confident off-road driving. The walk to the falls is 8.6km return over uneven ground, water crossings and rock scrambling; allow four to six hours and a high level of fitness. Swimming below the falls is not permitted because saltwater crocodiles may be present.
