Swimming Hole
Liffey Falls Pool
Liffey, Launceston & Tamar Valley, TAS
At the base of the magnificent Liffey Falls in Tasmania, a deep cool pool offers a refreshing dip surrounded by ancient fern-filled rainforest.
Know before you go
There are two ways in and they suit different vehicles. Gulf Road (C513) via Liffey township takes larger vehicles but is steep, winding gravel with several sharp bends; Riversdale Road up to the top car park is narrow and unsealed and is no good for buses, trailers, caravans or camper vans. From the lower car park the walk is 2 to 3 hours return with a great many stairs; from the upper car park it is much shorter. Free camping is at the lower car park only. A Tasmania parks pass is required.
