Lake Cave

Boranup, Margaret River, WA

Lake Cave lies beneath the spectacular karri forest, just a 20-minute drive south of Margaret River town.

Descend a staircase through an ancient sinkhole known as a doline and into a sunken forest to reach this magnificent cave. Inside, discover glistening formations and a beautifully reflective underground lake that mirrors the delicate, dripping crystals suspended above.

During a one-hour guided tour, knowledgeable guides discuss the cave’s geology, history, and unique formations. Your guide will use lighting to highlight key features, including the rare ‘suspended table,’ a singular structure weighing several tonnes hovering above the water, and active stalactite droplets creating ripples across the water.

This combination of natural wonder and storytelling provides an immersive experience for families, couples, and curious explorers alike.
