Swimming Hole
Lake Canobolas Reserve
87 Lake Canobolas Road, Nashdale NSW
The reservoir at the foot of Mount Canobolas, dammed in 1918 as Meadow Creek Reservoir to supply Orange with water and long since given over to recreation. A walking track rings the shoreline; swimmers and canoeists share the water with sailing boats and dragon boat crews. The restored old pumphouse recalls the original waterworks, and the eastern bank carries the Apex Adventure Playground, picnic and barbecue areas and a lakeside kiosk. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
