An ancient cave on the Nullarbor Plain containing some of the oldest known finger markings in the world, dating back 20000 years.
Know before you go
Koonalda Cave is closed to the public and has been since the late 1980s. Public access, commercial tourism and caving are not permitted inside the cave. It is a nationally significant Aboriginal site within the Nullarbor Wilderness Protection Area, now monitored by security cameras around the clock, and entry is only by research permit under cultural protocols.
