Karlu Karlu Devils Marbles

Red Centre · NT

A collection of enormous rounded granite boulders scattered across a shallow valley in the red heart of the Northern Territory. Some boulders balance impossibly on top of each other while others are split perfectly in half by millions of years of weathering. The site is sacred to the Warumungu Aboriginal people who know it as Karlu Karlu. Sunrise and sunset transform the boulders from grey to deep red creating a photographer's dream landscape.
