Hattah-Kulkyne National Park
Hattah-Kulkyne National Park, Hattah VIC
Mallee woodland surrounds a chain of freshwater lakes on the Murray River floodplain here — an impressive lakes system famous for its birdlife, ringed by walking tracks. The gentle Hattah Nature Walk starts near the park entrance with interpretive signs on the Mallee ecosystem; the 9.5-kilometre Lake Mournpall loop passes kangaroos, emus, wedge-tailed eagles and whistling kites; and the short climb to Warepil Lookout looks across the Mallee toward Murray-Sunset National Park. The turnoff is at Hattah, on the Calder Highway between Ouyen and Mildura.
