Finchley Lookout
Finchley Track via Upper Yango Creek Road, Yengo National Park, Laguna NSW
High in Yengo National Park at the end of an unsealed, 2WD-passable run along Yango Creek Road from Wollombi or Laguna, in the wooded ranges south of the Hunter vineyards. The platform looks out over remote wilderness to Mount Yengo in the distance, with wedge-tailed eagles often soaring overhead in search of prey. Finchley campground sits close by, and a short stroll from it reaches Aboriginal rock engravings — the lookout offers an insight into the Aboriginal cultural heritage of Yengo National Park.
