Coffin Bay National Park

Coffin Bay, Eyre Peninsula, SA

Beyond the township of Coffin Bay, fifty kilometres west of Port Lincoln, the peninsula runs out into windswept cliffs, massive dunes and two kinds of coast — pounding surf on the seaward side, sheltered sandy bays within. The northern beaches are reachable only by high-clearance four-wheel drive. Emus, goannas and western grey kangaroos are the regular company, with more than 120 bird species recorded across the park, and bushwalking trails range from easy to challenging. Boating, fishing, kayaking and diving all have their corners here. Vehicle entry fees apply; dogs are not permitted.
