A scenic coastal circuit around the most easterly point of mainland Australia passing through rainforest and along dramatic clifftops at Byron Bay. The track visits the historic Cape Byron Lighthouse with sweeping views up and down the coast. Dolphins are regularly spotted from the cliffs and humpback whales pass close to shore from June to November. The walk captures the essence of Byron Bay combining natural beauty with a laid-back coastal atmosphere.
Know before you go
Very popular so arrive early for parking. Whale watching season June to November. Dolphins seen year-round. Some steep sections. Start at the lighthouse car park or walk up from Tallow Beach.
